Att Call Plant Hire have recently taken delivery of 3 new Sumitomo excavators namely an SH80-3 (8 tonne), SH135XU-3 a (14 tonne) and an SH240-5 (24 tonne).
The business which is owned by Clinton and Michelle McKinnon has been in operation for the past 12 years and specialises in civil earthworks comprising bulk excavations, town house foundations, car parks and roadways.
The Principal, Clinton McKinnon said "We've owned and operated various different brands of excavators and this is our first experience with the Sumitomo product. We've been very impressed with the fuel economy, the smooth hydraulics and the excellent break out force on all three units. The Sumitomo 14 tonner with the knuckle boom and blade is extremely stable and enables us to work on very restricted sites".
The Sumitomo SH135XU-3 excavator is powered by an Isuzu 4BG1T 4 cylinder diesel developing 65.6 Kw @ 2100 rpm and has an operating weight of 14,500 kg. The excavator has a 2.41 meter arm, track shoes are 500mm, dig depth is 5.25 metres, dump height 6.38 metres and has a max bucket dig force of 91 Kn. along with a 165 litre fuel tank.
