Equipment Article : Kawasaki 60ZV Wheel Loader
Monday, 26 February 2007
Croft Constructions, located in Adelaide, recently took delivery of the very first Kawasaki 60ZV model wheel loader to be sold in Australia.
Croft Constructions is owned by Jeff Eeles and their primary work is the preparation of housing sites in major subdivisions. This involves all aspects of site development including road construction, pipe laying and housing pads.
While Croft Constructions was only formed 7 years ago, Jeff and his team have 24 years experience in the industry and have developed a well deserved reputation for excellence in service. Major contractors such as DML Constructions and South Australia's local water authority are a testimony to this.
Jeff’s relationship with BT Equipment and its predecessors goes back 23 years when he purchased his first machine, a JCB Backhoe. Since then he has purchased several Kato Excavators, two Yanmar Mini Excavators, a Sumitomo SH160-3 Excavator and now the Kawasaki 60ZV Wheel Loader.
Jeff’s reasons for purchasing the Kawasaki 60ZV are straight forward "they are good value for money, reliable and tough".
The Kawasaki 60ZV Wheel Loader is powered by an Isuzu BB-6BG1T engine developing 96Kw @ 2200 rpm and 471 Nm of torque @ 1600 rpm, significantly up on the 60ZIV-2 machine. The operator now has more room, a three speed automatic transmission, tilt / telescopic steering wheel and upgraded seat for improved comfort and productivity.
Operating weight, full turn tipping load and breakout force have all increased giving a more productive machine than the preceding 60ZIV-2 machine, which was already ahead of industry standard. Service access has been improved for reduced operating costs.
