Equipment Article : Yanmar SV100 Excavator
Monday, 10 September 2007
DML Constructions located in Adelaide recently took delivery of the first Yanmar SV100 hydraulic excavator.
DML Constructions, originally founded by Dennis Lorenzin in the early eighties, and now with co-directors Robin Dutton and Ben Rademacher has established their company as a leader in the civil construction and earthworks industry.
Ben Rademacher says their speciality is with subdivision type work and in his role as Operations Manager has been involved in numerous acquisitions of all types of earthmoving plant and equipment with the focus on value for money.
Ben quotes "Recently we have had the pleasure of adding to our fleet of eleven excavators the Yanmar SV100, sold and serviced by BT Equipment. This 10 tonne excavator is a pleasure to operate, particularly in tight access areas with its swing boom, reduced tail swing and large break out force. With our ever growing job sites having restricted zones, we need an excavator which can handle deep trenching at most angles with power to spare and the new Yanmar SV100 fits the bill perfectly."
"Our plant purchases are not complete without the full back up of an after sales service team and the decision to purchase the Yanmar was simplified knowing than an excellent work shop facility was at our disposal to facilitate all the services and maintenance we require. BT Equipment has sold and maintained many varied pieces of plant to DML over the years, however this is our first Yanmar excavator. After doing the usual checking around the industry we found the Yanmar name synonymous with economy and reliability without compromise."
The Yanmar SV100 is powered by a Yanmar 4TNV98T-SBV engine developing 54.9kW @ 2200 rpm. This unit has a dig depth of over 4.6 metres with bucket breakout of 5,430kgf and arm breakout of 4,300kgf.
Hydraulics are Yanmar's ViO progressive 3 pump system which increases power and speed on demand to increase productivity. The Yanmar designed hydraulic quick coupler provides faster and more efficient attachment changes. The SV100 air conditioned cab is standard and offers lots of room for maximum comfort and productivity.
